My name is Melissa (Liss for short) and I’m just getting started in the big world of blogging. I got hooked on a couple baking blogs and decided it was time to start my own!! I absolutely adore baking and do it pretty much every day. Its such a great stress reliever for me! I have been baking pretty much as long as I can remember. Sometimes I think back and am amazed that my mom let me stick my hands in an oven at such a young age! I guess she knew that baking was my destiny!!
A great story about my early baking years involves my BFF Julie. We decided to make something (not sure what it was that day…) and got out all the stuff. We were using my mom’s stand mixer that she got as a wedding gift (so it was 20 years old). Julie decided to scrap down the bowl WHILE IT WAS RUNNING!!!!! Needless to say, the metal spoon got sucked into the mixer’s vortex and went for a ride. hahaha! The beaters came out a mangled mess. My mom was less than thrilled at that moment and vowed to keep the beaters to give to Julie on her wedding day! Unfortunately, she threw them out and that didn’t happen but that would have been priceless!
My only complaint about baking is the clean up. Man do I hate to clean… I am trying to be disciplined about it but sometimes, it just piles up. Maybe one day I will be so rich and famous I will have a maid just to clean up my baking messes!!! (a girl can dream, right??!)
